Spring-cleaning of the organism

springHi, blogfriends! It’s been a long time since we heard from each other :-) Last week was very hectic for me that I even didn’t have tome to blog. I had a celebration, so I indulged myself in lots of “forbidden” foods, plus I skipped my aerobic exercises, and I am not very proud of myself :-( Fortunately, I don’t put weight easily, so I don’t have to think of losing it now! It’s only that I’m very keen on exercising, and decided that I’ll double-exercise this week, and I’ll eat healthier than usual. I have to detoxicate my organism.

Experts believe that excessive toxicity of the body creates a whole range of serious illnesses, from osteoarthritis (where toxins settle in the joints), to heart disease, diabetes, cancer and many other. To prevent such illness we need to be in tune with our bodies, aware of its condition and needs.

The most important thing is to drink a lot of fluids- at least 2 liters of fluid a day, and the healthiest choice is water, of course. Also, you can drink herbal teas, green tea is excellent detoxicant, but really any herbal tea would do. For digestive system, hot water and freshly made lemon juice is excellent! Then, include fibers because they’ll flush toxic residues out of your body and improve you’re overall health. Eat a lot of fiber! But, moderately eat foods full of proteins and fats. Avoid wheat products, meat and dairy products (including eggs), salt and any food containing it, hydrogenated fats, artificial sweeteners, food additives and preservatives, fried foods, spices, dried fruit. Limit potatoes and bananas to one per day. Also, don’t shun exercising! If you feel out of energy for your regular training- walk! I already wrote about the benefits of walking! During the detox-program, tiredness is expected, because your body needs time to get used to new regime.

It is believed that everybody should do a spring-cleaning of the organism at least once a year. It looks that my time has come :-) And it’s up to you to decide when is yours.
