Natural Remedy

There are many choices when it comes to sweeteners. The first thing that comes to mind of most people when they think of them is- sugar. But, no other sweetener has as many benefits as honey, because it is pure and all-natural.

honey1Main benefits of honey are:

  1. it is natural energy booster,
  2. it is immune system builder, and
  3. it is natural medication for some ailments.

Athletes use it for boosting energy and reducing fatigue, because it is full of carbohydrates. It is true that honey has more calories than sugar (honey-64 kcal in a tablespoon, and sugar-46 kcal), but since it is sweeter than sugar- we use it less. Not to mention how healthier it is than sugar, because of high content of vitamins and minerals, and even 22 amino acids. It is true that honey and sugar are made of the same basic sugar units- fructose and glucose, but in honey they are individual units, whereas in sugar they are hooked together- which is not good for us.

Honey is an excellent anti-oxidant and therefore good for our digestive system, and because of its anti-bacterial properties, helps our organism fight disease.

Honey even helps with weight loss. It may be unbelievable for some of you, but it is true. I already explained why it is a better choice than sugar. If you want to include it in your diet, keep in mind these few things for which it is of assistance:

  1. it boosts our metabolism,
  2. by eating it in moderate amounts, we lose weight and keep our muscular mass,
  3. our body is losing extra water deposited in our tissue,
  4. it helps in boosting serotonin- the hormone of happiness.

And here’s one very well known recipe for losing weight- you all have heard of it, I was told about it by my granny. It is simple, as most of the things I present you here. It should be taken in the morning, before your breakfast. It increases metabolism and helps fighting the cellulite. So, a glass of freshly squeezed lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey, with 1 dl of warm water, really makes wonder! Instead of lemon juice, you can use ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, put it in a glass of water and boil it, than cover it and put it aside for half an hour to cool off, and then add a teaspoon of honey and drink it. Don’t put anything in your mouth half an hour after this.
